Senior Management Team

Hiran has had a terrific career contributing to start-ups that have become industry success stories and has the passion to develop another success story with the support of the WalkingSpree team. Hiran joined Rogers Wireless, Canada's largest mobile telephone operator, in its first year of operation and left when its annual revenues exceeded over billion dollars. His last role at Rogers was General Manager of Resale after holding management positions in business development, marketing and finance. Hiran then joined Shift Networks Inc, a VOIP telecom provider, as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and a Director. He successfully took the company onto Canada's junior stock exchange in its second year of operation. Immediately prior to WalkingSpree, Hiran joined Resverlogix Corp. as the Chief Financial Officer, then a four-person private biotechnology firm, where among other responsibilities, he was involved in raising financing and managing the public reporting for getting listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, Canada's major stock exchange. Hiran resigned from Resverlogix in February 2006 (when the valuation of the firm was $200 million) to lead the development of WalkingSpree.

Hiran Perera has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario, and qualified as a Certified Management Accountant. Hiran is currently a member of the Board of Directors of GrowSafe Systems, an advanced technology company that develops automation solutions for the beef industry. He volunteers in the community as he was a member of the Board of Directors of Immigrant Services Calgary for six years. Hiran has averaged 10,000 steps a day since WalkingSpree's inception and is an avid jogger. As a personal goal for his 50th year, Hiran trained and completed the Big Sur Marathon in California in April 2008.

Lisa Rousseau - VP & Co-Founder

Lisa has worked in online business and print and web publishing for the past 12 years, both with her own company and with Goose Lane Editions, an award-winning publishing company. She was the publishing editor for two Canadian Veterinary Health Science publications for 4 years. Lisa is also a graduate of Wizard Academy's Marketing to Women Online course. Lisa has been a strong force in new developments among social media and web based companies in Atlantic Canada. She has been actively involved with community-oriented organizations that promote family health and wellness. Lisa attended St. Lawrence College and University of Guelph.

Angela Perera - VP & Co-Founder

Angela has a strong determination to achieve the highest of quality and was instrumental in the development of the WalkingSpree vision. Angela has an excellent background in employee training, retail sales and promotions. Angela was responsible for training development of all staff at Famous Payers, then Canada’s largest movie chain, and played an active role in strategic planning, theatre design, and event marketing, including new theatre grand openings and movie launches. In a five-year career at Famous Players, Canada’s largest movie theatre chain, She has intensive training knowledge on Disney training programs and rolled out such programs to thousands of employees. Angela was also responsible for training at Staples/Business Depot, a national chain of retail box stores specializing in technology, office supplies, and office furniture. Angela attended University of Toronto.

Sidhartha Shankar - Consulting VP, Information Technology

Sidhartha Shankar has more than 12 years of Information Technology experience. Sidhartha consults to WalkingSpree on technology strategies and on providing technology integration with large clients. Sidhartha is the co-founder and President of i-Medsoft, an integrated care-management company providing disease management, wellness management software and decision support tools. Prior to that, he was responsible for designing web strategies for "new media" division of Journal Communications Inc. Sidhartha also worked for Metavante Corp where he held several key engineering positions with increasing responsibility focusing on Electronic Bill Presentment and Payments. Sidhartha is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a Masters degree in Technology Management, from the Wharton School and the School of Engineering. He holds a BS in Computer Science and Engineering from National Institute of Technology in India.

Eric Jozsa - Manager, Business Development – Western USA and Canada.
Eric Jozsa is passionate about fitness and a leading edge fitness consultant who believes in leading by example by setting high standards on him and then striving to achieve them. Eric initially joined WalkingSpree as a Personal Trainer and still likes to keep involved in the coaching aspect to understand our client base. As a Personal Trainer, he has worked with various populations from chronic pain sufferers to national elite level athletes. Eric brings Business Development experience in the wellness field as he was the Marketing Director for a Fitness Club for over five years. Eric also owned a corporation that is focused on personal training to goal orientated clients. Eric has a Bachelor of Science Degree with Distinction in Kinesiology from University of Calgary.

Kjelti Wilkes Kellough, Legal Counsel

Kjelti is a partner at TingleMerrett LLP, a Calgary-based boutique law firm focused on start-up and growth businesses.  Kjelti’s practice includes the provision of advice on a full scope of corporate related matters to privately-held companies, many of whom are in the technology sector. Kjelti obtained her undergraduate degree (B.A., 1993) from Augustana University College and her law degree (LL.B., 1996) from the University of Calgary , where she received numerous academic and community service awards. Kjelti is currently finishing her Masters of Law in e-business through Osgoode Hall Law School (York University).
